Week 3 at BIR, Jared did BIG things! He had some visitors from Houston, we got to catch up with Kelly and Susan Warkentin, we hadn't seen them since our NY wedding. It was great being able to not just talk with them about the work that God is doing in both mine and Jared's lives but they got to witness the miracles that are happening and their prayers for the last 6 months being answered.
Jared's right arm is very weak and not ready to start moving a whole lot, so his doctor injected some botox, hoping that this will help with the tone and tension in his arm. We are continuing to pray for more movement along his right side. His arm is currently in a cast to help with straightening it out...he does not like it!
Over the weekend my sister and I worked on some personal grooming with him, which he did great, brushing his teeth, combing his beard, and trimming his beard and mustache when we asked for help.
Jared was excited to hang with a couple of his favorites, his niece Avery and nephew Parker, when his sister, Mindy and mom, Betty came for Mother's Day
We are also working on finding Jared's voice, we are fervently praying for him to start talking again as he seems to want to and to be close to saying something, nothing yet. He is getting stringer with his body, holding that head up and holding his trunk up when sitting and standing, which are both huge things.
Prayer requests:
Insurance will approve for Jared to continue his therapy at a transitional post acute rehab after we leave BIR.
Jared will continue to progress with WALKING and TALKING
We will be able to make the needed modifications to our home in order to get him home when the timing is appropriate.
