What a weekend! Both for Jared and myself. I know I keep saying it, but Jared is so loved! He had more visitors this weekend; my sister's friends and colleagues from Houston who have been praying for Jared and me since day 1 came to meet us and spend time with my sister Kristel. We had some great food, plenty of laughs, amazing conversations about God, and what the Lord is doing in all our lives, especially Jared's and we were blessed with some cool weather as well.
I keep saying how truly special it is to have complete strangers praying for Jared, who are traveling from all kinds of places to lay eyes and hands on Jared, as Megs put it, getting to bear witness to the fruits of their prayers.
Thank you to my mom that stayed an extra week with me and kept my house in order, and spent time with Jared, thank you to my sister and her friends' Megs and Gabby Trejo (no relation to Danny Trejo), for coming to Dallas and spending time with Jared. Thank you to my favorite aunt Sylvia for always making time for Jared even when she has no time. Thank you to the great staff at BIR, who pour out so much love and patience into Jared, because of the great CNAs and nurses at BIR, I was able to take some time with these friends and not worry because Jared was in great hands. We are so so so blessed with these family and friends that surround Jared and I in love and prayers.
With no therapy over the weekend and good rest, we are praying for Jared to hit the new week strong and continue to conquer all the things! More strength in his walking, head/neck and trunk control when sitting and standing, and finding his voice again to communicate with us to the best of his abilities. Although Jared is not speaking yet, he is so aware of everything that is going on, he is always listening and receiving information, he understands everything that is said to him and what is happening around him. All wonderful things!
Continued Prayer Requests:
Continued Insurance coverage for here at BIR (with hopes for an extension on our tentative discharge date of 6/2).
Insurance coverage for the next step in rehab which would be "transitional post acute rehab"
Progressions with swallowing and speech
PATIENCE! For both Jared and myself!
Jared will continue to progress with WALKING and TALKING
We will be able to make the needed modifications to our home in order to get him home when the timing is appropriate.
